Perrie Edwards shares a rare Little Mix update amid the band’s ‘hiatus’

Perrie Edwards has given a rare Little Mix update as the band continue to take an extended ‘break’.

Little Mix have announced their hiatus in 2021, with Perrie, Leigh-Anne and Jade confirming they will retire after the Confetti tour ends in April 2022.




Perrie has released new solo material, with her first single ‘Forget About Us’ released in April and new track ‘Tears’ due out on Friday 21st June. She performed at Capital’s Summertime Ball this weekend and said she feels “much more confident” without her bandmates.

The 30-year-old singer said branching out on her own gave her a major confidence boost as she has to work without the other singers as her “comfort blanket”. She told Numero Netherlands magazine: “I’m a lot more confident now, I guess, because I don’t have people to hide behind.

“I was used to having the girls as my comfort blanket, whereas now I have to step up. I have to push myself out of my comfort zone much more than I have done so far.”

She also told the publication that her upcoming album contains very personal lyrics, including words about her footballer fiance Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and their son Axel. Perrie added: “I’ve drawn inspiration from everywhere in my life.
