Confirmed: Coventry City sign former Brentford and Watford trainee

Coventry City have boosted the club’s development squad with the arrival of new signing Aston Ellard, whose previous clubs were Brentford and Watford.

The 17-year-old joins the Sky Blues Under-21s via the Conquest Academy on a day the club secured seven other young talents on their first professional contracts.

A club statement said: “We are delighted to confirm the arrival of Aston Ellard from Conquest Academy. The 17-year-old will join Coventry City’s Under-21 side as he puts pen to paper on his first professional contract.

“The striker can play anywhere in the front three positions but is predominantly deployed on the left side. Ellard arrives at Coventry City, having previously been part of the Conquest Academy, which is based in the south of England. Aston was also on Brentford’s books until 12 and then Watford until 14.”
