Salford Red Devils boss Paul Rowley responds to speculation he will be Leeds Rhinos’ next head coach – Total Rugby League

SALFORD RED DEVILS head coach Paul Rowley has responded to speculation that he will be Leeds Rhinos’ next head coach.

Speaking directly Sky Sports ahead of Salford’s hard-fought 25-14 win over Warrington Wolves on Friday night, reporter Jenna Brooks asked Rowley if he had any response to claims he would follow Ian Blease to Headingley.

Blease, of course, joined the Rhinos as sporting director after eight years as Salford boss.

Rowley, however, has no plans to follow Blease from Salford and cross the M62 to Leeds.

“I wouldn’t give it the time of day. It’s a hypothetical question,” Rowley countered.

“You could say that about the Brisbane Broncos or anybody else, couldn’t you? So yes, I’m focusing on giving this group my full attention. That’s what they deserve and that’s what I’m going to do.”

This was Salford’s ninth win of the 2024 Super League campaign and one that lifted them to fifth on the ladder.
