Leeds United are in talks with Brighton over the possible sale of Crysencio Summerville and appear to be in a strong position to maximize his value.

Daniel Farke will have a different attack when he prepares his side for the opening game of next season in August.

One notable exit that is expected is that of Crysencio Summerville, with a major update revealed today about his future.

Brighton are in talks with Leeds to sign Crysencio Summerville

Fabrizio Romano revealed on Monday that Leeds are in talks with Brighton over the possible sale of the Dutch winger.

Summerville is a key target for new Brighton boss Fabian Hurzeler with an approach now made to the 49ers over his transfer:

As Romano states, Chelsea and Liverpool are also in the running for the 22-year-old, making for an intriguing start to the transfer window.

Will Leeds be promoted next season?

The Summerville talks already come as great news for Leeds

In an ideal and totally unrealistic world, Leeds would keep Summerville to make their second attempt at a promotion fee, but that’s not happening.

Summerville will play in the top flight next season and it was encouraging to see how Leeds are preparing to deal with his departure.

Firstly, the 49ers are very well placed to demand a fee in excess of £35m for the winger and have enough clubs in the running to push the price into that area.

Secondly, what we are seeing is a clear transfer scenario unfolding quite quickly too – with the Seagulls looking to steal a march on their rivals at the start of the window.

The last thing Leeds want from this is a protracted saga stretching into August with no money coming in to replace Summerville, who will be vital for investment.

If Summerville is sold early this summer for a good price, as seems quite likely, it puts Farke and the recruitment structure above him for a free run to rebuild the side with enough time to make it work.
