Birmingham City have an ambitious move for Aberdeen’s Bojan Miovski

Birmingham City are admirers of Aberdeen striker Bojan Miovski, reporter Alan Nixon has claimed on Patreon.

Birmingham City are heading to League One after a disastrous 2023/24 campaign.

The Blues were settled in a good place under John Eustace, but the decision to appoint Wayne Rooney and the subsequent slide contributed greatly to their eventual demise. Now, he must turn his attention to preparing for the third level.

The transfer activity from St. Andrew’s will be interesting with solid finances behind them, but key players will surely move on after relegation from the Championship.

Now though, Birmingham City have been linked with an ambitious move for Aberdeen talisman Bojan Miovski.

Writing on Patreon, reporter Alan Nixon says the Blues are both keen and ambitious despite relegation. However, a deal appears to be a difficult one to close.

Nixon adds that Serie A side Bologna are also interested. The Serie A side play Champions League football next season and are willing to offer up to £7million to sign Miovski.

Who is this?

THE QUIZ STARTS!

Untouchable?

Birmingham City are ambitious and are likely to make some eye-catching signings this summer.

However, a move for Miovski looks highly unlikely, even if the Blues want to bring him through the door. The 24-year-old is a player up front and after registering 26 goals and four assists in 53 games for Aberdeen, League One should not be his next move.

Miovski has proven his abilities both in the Scottish Premiership and in Europe. As such, it’s no surprise to see someone like Bologna interested.

Although the Blues are well supported, if Bologna are prepared to pay up to £7m, it could be a deal that ends up being out of reach for the Ligue 1 new boys.

A new talisman on the radar

Birmingham City will certainly have another striker on their shopping list this summer.

Jay Stansfield was a good option at the top of the pitch but returned to Fulham after his loan ended. Scott Hogan has been released, so that leaves only Tyler Roberts and Lukas Jutkiewicz.

If Chris Davies is to lead his side to promotion, a real talisman is needed. It wouldn’t be a surprise if at least two strikers are signed this summer.

Ambitious targets may be on the radar, but Miovski could be a step too far with a Champions League side also keen.
