The city doesn’t have cooling centers itself, but it reminds residents who want a place to get relief from the heat about its splash pads, publicly accessible air-conditioned spaces and outdoor pools.

The city notes that the Cornwall Civic Complex is open daily from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.; The Benson Center is available Monday through Sunday from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.; and, the Cornwall Public Library is open Monday through Thursday from 9:30am to 8:30pm along with Friday and Saturday from 9:30am to 5:00pm All three are air conditioned and have water fountains/stations power supply.

The city has two splash pads already operating this year in Lamoureux Park as well as Riverdale Park, which is at the corner of Dover Street and Riverdale Avenue.
