Leicester are hoping to appoint former Chelsea boss Graham Potter as their new manager

TalkSPORT understands that Leicester believe they are closing in on a deal to make Graham Potter the new manager.

Potter has been in advanced talks with the Foxes for the past week as they look to appoint a new boss.

West Brom boss Carlos Corberan was also considered, but director of football Jon Rudkin led the push for Potter.

The feeling now at the King Power Stadium is that Leicester may be closing in on their man.

Leicester are looking for a new boss following Chelsea’s decision to appoint Enzo Maresca as their new head coach.

Potter has been unemployed since April 2023, when he was sacked from his position at Stamford Bridge, with Chelsea sitting 11th in the table at the time.

The Englishman has since attracted interest from other clubs, including Ajax, Manchester United and Leicester, who made a move for him last summer before Maresca’s appointment.

However, talkSPORT reported at the time that Potter rejected that approach from the Foxes due to his desire to take a break from the game.

Leicester will face a big challenge next season as they look to avoid relegation from the Premier League.

After suffering the drop last summer, the Foxes won automatic promotion under Maresca last term and will now be praying to avoid an immediate drop back into the EFL.

Should Potter be appointed, his first game in charge will be a home clash with Tottenham.
