Michelle Keegan has received a new boost in her career after starting the year winning praise for her appearance in a smash Netflix hit. The actress impressed with her lead performance as Maya Stern in the adaptation of Harlen Coben’s thriller Fool Me Once.

The eight-part series landed on the streaming service on New Year’s Day (January 1), after Michelle spent much of last year filming the series in Manchester and Cheshire, ahead of its long-awaited release.

The Stockport-born star later called the response to the Fool Me Once drama “overwhelming” as she received an award earlier this year recognizing her career in television. Around the same time, it was revealed that he had signed up for the second series of BBC drama Ten Pound Poms.

The six-part series aired last May and followed a group of Brits who left dreary post-war Britain in 1956 to embark on a life-changing adventure on the other side of the world. Michelle has since made two extensive trips to the other side of the world to film series two, with her husband Mark Wright in tow.

But now it’s been confirmed that Michelle is likely to be spending more time much closer to home thanks to Brassic’s return. Not only will Sky comedy fans get their fix of Vinnie O’Neill and the gang with the sixth series airing on Sky Max and NOW later this year, but there will also be a seventh series.

Co-creator Danny Brocklehurst said in a statement: “Season seven! How did this happen?!? The news comes after Michelle and Mark returned to the UK after he supported her during her work trip to Sydney.
