Leeds United midfielder Marc Roca is said to be closing in on a permanent exit from Elland Road to Real Betis despite having a clause to leave again on loan.

The Whites’ summer window will be less hectic and chaotic than 2023 after relegation, largely because the club has far more power over player contracts.

After last season’s loan clauses, Leeds only have two who can leave the club on loan again for the 24/25 campaign.

Of the two players capable of going out on loan again, midfielder Marc Roca was one of them, having spent 23/24 in La Liga with Real Betis.

He has clearly impressed Manuel Pellegrini and the Sevilla boardroom, to the point where a move for next season is already in the works.

However, a major update has come from El Chiringuito journalist Gonzalo Tortosa that Betis are currently pushing ahead with their efforts to sign Roca, but permanently:

“Betis close to deal with Leeds to sign Marc Roca as property.”

Will Leeds be promoted next season?

The Spanish midfielder has been handed a contract until 2028, which will see him leave Elland Road for good.

Selling Roca permanently is a huge boost for Leeds if it happens

The fact that we could get a decent fee for Roca instead of loaning him out is a big boost to our summer spending.

He will certainly leave the club for an eight-figure fee if we are happy to let him go, which should be a profit for PSR.

Roca doesn’t want to come back here so hopefully this gets sorted out soon and we can make plans without these loans hanging around.
