Manchester United are interested in a move for the Bologna forward Joshua Zirkzeeaccording to Sky Sports Deutschland’s Florian Plettenberg.

The Premier League outfit are said to be long-term admirers of the 23-year-old, having watched him closely in January, and are now said to be in “concrete discussions” with his representatives.

AC Milan have been one of the teams heavily linked with Zirkzee recently and the Red Devils are aware of their interest in his signature, but while Rossoneri are still in the running, there is optimism from Old Trafford that they could successfully win the race for him. He has a release clause in his current contract that can be activated for £34m.

Zirkzee, who is currently in the European Championship with Holland, scored 11 goals while assisting another four in 36 Serie A matches last season.
