FULL CLUB WATSON’S SIGNING

The 21-year-old has been on The Gaffer’s radar for some time

The club have completed the signing of Jack Watson on a one-year deal from Stocksbridge Park Steels.

Watson becomes the club’s first signing of the summer after retaining all but Benni Ndlovu from last season’s squad as preparations for the 2024/25 Northern Premier League East season continue.

The 21-year-old’s move to The Home of Football comes on the back of a productive season at local rivals Stocksbridge Park Steels, for whom he scored eight times in 34 appearances.

Hard-working and keen to cover the pitch, Watson came through the Doncaster Rovers Academy and played for Rossington Main and Stocksbridge Park Steels.

Manager Ryan Cresswell had this to say about the Doncaster-born winger: “Jack is a player we have watched over the last 12 months. His quick and direct style will suit us perfectly and I am delighted to see him in our famous red and black quarters.”

Watsons’ deal will keep him at The Club for the 2024/25 season. He will join the boys on the first day of the preseason.

Watson said of signing for the world’s first football club: “I’m excited to be part of this great club and I’m looking to start the season with a bang. With the new stadium on the horizon, I feel it’s a great time for me to join Sheffield Club.”
