Manchester United get a boost as PSG are not interested in Benfica Star for defensive reinforcement

Paris Saint-Germain are one of the clubs interested in signing LOSC Lille defender Leny Yoro. With Lille having to sell him before his contract expires in 2025, he is likely to leave this summer. However, Real Madrid is said to be his preferred choice.

As a result, PSG they may be working on a backup plan to ensure they don’t miss out on any of the talented young centre-backs rumored to be available in this summer’s transfer window. Another top young centre-back on their radar is SL Benfica’s António Silva.

Although reports suggest Silva is Plan B, there are conflicting reports such as France Info Julien Froment revealed that the Portugal international is not on PSG’s list of centre-back targets for this summer, even if they fail to sign Yoro. If Yoro does not join, PSG will look at other central defensive options who are not Jorge Mendes’ clients.

If the Ligue 1 side decide not to pursue Silva, it would be a boost for Manchester United. Last month, Manchester United were reported to have sent scouts to follow Silva. The Red Devils are likely considering whether to spend money on the player.
