Birmingham Dogs Home has appointed Dr Naomi Bradford as its new Chief Veterinary Surgeon.

In her new role, she will lead the team working at the charity’s Veterinary Clinic, an independent practice open to the public, which comprises three consultation rooms, separate dog and cat wards, a dental suite, an operating theatre, an laboratory and diagnostic imaging. suite.

She said: “I have always had a passion for charity work and as a student I did many internships in rescue centres. Since then, I have always been keen to incorporate this into my work. Working at Birmingham Dogs Home has given me the chance to look after dogs who don’t yet have families alongside owned animals.

“I look forward to continuing the great work that Birmingham Dogs Home and The Vet Clinic are doing by building a team to provide high quality care to all our dogs and other pets.”

Fi Harrison, Head of Fundraising and Communications at Birmingham Dogs Home, added: “We are delighted to appoint Naomi as Head Vet at The Vet Clinic. Her passion and care for animals is inspiring and we look forward to seeing her bring that to the role.

“Running our own veterinary clinic means we can significantly reduce the cost of essential medical care and better manage both emergencies and the ongoing physical health of dogs on the road to recovery. Proceeds from the clinic help fund the vital life-changing and life-saving work of Birmingham Dogs Home’s rescue centres, which care for over 2,000 abandoned dogs in the Midlands every year.”
