A baby has tragically died after being bitten by a pet dog at a home in Coventry. Police confirmed the seven-month-old girl, who has not been named, suffered “serious head injuries” after being bitten by the family dog.

Police and paramedics raced to a house in Shorncliffe Road just after 3pm on Sunday afternoon (June 16). They found that the little girl was seriously injured.

“She was treated at the scene by paramedics before being rushed to hospital for further treatment,” a West Midlands Police spokesman said. “Tragically, she died a short time later. Our thoughts remain with her family at this devastating time.”
