Baby dies after dog attack at family’s Midlands home

A seven-month-old baby has died after a dog attack at a family home. The child suffered “severe head injuries” when she was bludgeoned to death in Coventry last weekend.

West Midlands Police said they responded to the incident on Shorncliffe Road just after 3pm last Sunday, June 16. She was rushed to the hospital, but unfortunately the doctors could not save her.

The force said the pet dog was not classed as a dangerous breed. It was removed from the property by officers and humanely destroyed.
