Street closed after ‘car flips over man’ outside Tesco

A street was blocked off by police this afternoon after a man was hit by a reversing car.

The incident happened on Moses Street, Toxteth, just opposite Tesco Extra on Park Road. Police cordoned off the street while paramedics treated the man at the scene.

A woman, who did not want to be named, said she went to help the man after seeing people gathered outside Tesco. She said: “He went in between the bins and a car ran over him. I saw everyone outside Tesco looking. I was sitting with him, he is aware. A few people from the street came to help”

The ECHO understands the man suffered injuries to his arm and leg, although this has not been officially confirmed. It is not yet known if any arrests have been made.

Merseyside Police have been approached for comment.
