The sofa “attached with a single piece of string” flies from the top of the car

A driver tried to carry a sofa on top of their car – before it went flying as they rounded a roundabout. The large charcoal gray sofa was seen strapped to the roof of the black Ford as it approached a roundabout in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, on Monday.

A single piece of string attaching the furniture to the vehicle gave way when the car spun and the couch fell to the ground in the rain. No one appeared to be injured in the incident.

A passenger from London, who was following in another vehicle, recorded the spectacle and said it was “an accident waiting to happen”.

He said: “My wife and I were both in stitches. I was laughing so hard I was worried I might collapse.

“It’s a huge sofa with a tiny piece of string around it – what a clown. It was really funny, but I felt a little sorry for him because it started to rain really hard and there was no safe place to stop and help him. .”
