Meet the man who cleans the shoes of Liverpool FC stars for a living

Meet the shoeshine boy whose brand is ‘the talk of Liverpool’s football training ground’.

Scott Quick, 36, opened his shop, called Reborn, on Warbreck Moor, Aintree, in September 2022. Since then, he has had several celebrity customers, as well as more ‘coming soon’.

The brand “immediately took off”, gaining more than 12,000 followers on Instagram, and now Scott, from Fazakerley, plans to branch out across the country.

He told the ECHO: “(When we opened) we knew there was a market so we went for it. Last January, Fabio Carvalho entered the store.

“He said he came across our house online and said it was the best. He’s been a few times now.”

As well as the 21-year-old Liverpool prospect, Scott’s other clients include the likes of Luis Diaz, Stefan Bajcetic and Adrián, as well as reality star Charlotte Dawson. Boxer Liam Smith also paid a visit to the store.

He said: “(Adrian) told me the players looked at my page at the Liverpool training ground. I have a few of them coming after the Euro.

“We’re the best in the game, that’s why they came to us and took notice. We have to stand out as a brand. And we’re not just a shoe shine, we’re a brand.”

After the success of his first store, Scott is looking to expand his company. He said: “We will be opening more stores in Liverpool very soon. We want your business and are looking to expand the brand across the UK.

“What sets us apart is that we have three different options for shoppers: customers can come into the store, get same-day delivery (if they’re in Liverpool) or next-day delivery if they’re elsewhere in If someone from Liverpool texts us, we can be there in 20 minutes depending on where we are.

“Our goal is to do collaborations with a big shoe company. We want to conquer the game and we will, it’s just a matter of time.”
