Van driver injured in freak accident when tree fell on his head in Nuneaton

A van driver was injured in a freak accident after a tree fell on his head in Nuneaton. He had stopped on Coventry Road to reset his satnav at around 11pm yesterday, Wednesday July 19.

Nuneaton Fire Station told CoventryLive he got out of the van and as he did so a nearby tree fell on his head. Two engines from Newtown Road fire station, police officers and an ambulance from West Midlands Ambulance Service responded to his 999 call for help.

He escaped without serious injury. “He needed stitches to his head,” a station spokesman said.
