The cast of BBC Balamory look very different in their reunion snap 22 years after the show ended

The cast of BBC’s Balamory have delighted fans with a reunion photo, more than 22 years after the popular children’s show first aired. The actors look very good – and quite different in the snapshot.

Balamory, which aired from 2002 to 2005, was set in a fictional Scottish island community and followed the lives of its residents, who became familiar faces to young viewers.

The cast included Julie Wilson Nimmo, known for her role in Chewin’ the Fat, as school teacher Miss Hoolie, and River City’s Juliet Cadzow as bus driver Edie McCredie. Scots Squad star Andrew Agnew played PC Plum.

Andrew shared a photo on social media with Julie and Juliet from a stage production with their old friend Miles Jupp, who played inventor Archie in Balamory. Posting the photo on X, formerly Twitter, Andrew wrote: ‘A brilliant night seeing our friend. Go see Miles Jupp On I Bang, you won’t be disappointed. A superb piece of theater cleverly disguised as stand-up,” reports the publication. Daily recording.

He added: “Extremely funny but poignant at points. The wit in his comedy is inspiring. Friends forever.” Fans were quick to express their delight at the reunion, with one commenting: “Sounds like a big Balamory reunion there.”

Another said: “What a lovely photo of you all,” while a third simply wrote: “Love this.” Balamory was mostly filmed in Tobermory on the Isle of Mull, with scenes at Archie’s castle filmed in East Lothian, while other locations, including the nursery and on the mainland, were both filmed in Glasgow.

Elsewhere, Balamory’s Julie and Andrew have joined forces again for the second edition of CBeebies’ Olga da Polga. The show is based on the book of the same title, written by Paddington Bear creator Michael Bond. Follow the adventures of guinea pig Olga da Pola and her owner Karen Sawdust, played by Isla Mercer.

Julie Wilson-Nimmo will reprise her role as Karen’s mother, Mrs. Sawdust, and her husband, Still Game star Greg Hemphill, has been cast as Mr. Sawdust.
