Norwich City make a decision on the arrested first-team man ahead of the clash with Leeds United

Leeds United face Norwich City this weekend in the first leg of their play-off semi-final and the Canaries have a concern over Shane Duffy after the centre-back was arrested this week on drink-driving charges.

The Whites have their own problems to worry about ahead of Sunday’s play-off semi-final first leg, bottom of the form table in the last six games of the season.

However, Norwich City are not in their best form either as they host Leeds at Carrow Road on Sunday, including centre-back Shane Duffy.

Norwich team news ahead of Leeds: Shane Duffy to play

Huge controversy arose in the Norwich camp this week when it was revealed that centre-back Shane Duffy had been arrested in Hethersett.

He was involved in a two-car collision while drink-driving and has now been charged, the BBC has confirmed.

After his arrest on Monday, Norwich boss David Wagner revealed the Republic of Ireland defender is expected to play against Leeds (via BBC Norfolk):

Norwich squad news: Jon Rowe in training, Ashely Barnes to miss out

Jonathan Rowe has been key for Norwich this season and was an injury doubt for the game, but Adam Pope relayed Wagner’s comments that he practiced this week.

It’s bad news for striker Ashley Barnes, who will miss the first leg through injury:

Barnes injured is a big blow for Norwich

Barnes’ experience would have been a key asset for the Canaries against us, but him being out forces a change up front.

As for Duffy, it is worrying that Wagner is happy to start a player who was arrested this week, but he is also important to them – after scoring against Leeds at Carrow Road.

Both teams have issues in less-than-ideal squads, though, so it will be intriguing to see how the teams line up on Sunday.
