Nuneaton and Bedworth’s worst problem areas as police maps identify 57 postcodes

New police maps reveal exactly where Nuneaton and Bedworth’s anti-social behavior hotspots are. They have been drawn up using recorded problem incidents and these areas appear as hexagons.

For Nuneaton, the whole of the town center as well as parts of Abbey Green are in the hotspot area, while in Bedworth it includes part of the town centre. Compared to towns in the rest of the county, Nuneaton has the most identified ‘hexagonal’ hotspot areas.

These areas are now the focus of a new sting, code-named Operation Resolve, which is a £1 million county-wide project which will focus on 18 ASB hotspot areas in the county.

Dedicated patrols have begun in the areas and are organized at times when intelligence has indicated that the most problems are occurring. They are led by police officers and community support officers (PCSOs) in hotspot areas.

Inspector Ryan Walker from Nuneaton and Bedworth Safer Neighborhood Team previously said: “We have adopted a zero tolerance enforcement approach to anti-social behavior in Nuneaton and Bedworth and we are pleased to say that we have already seen a consistent reduction in reports since last year .

“Using this new information flow about where and when ASB takes place will help us take a targeted approach and support the good work from our officers to date.”

Speaking about the county-wide operation, Chief Superintendent for Local Policing Jill Fowler added: “Hotspot patrols have proven effective in reducing criminal and anti-social behavior across the country and we would welcome any additional resources that will enable us to using models we know work.

“While the definition of anti-social behavior is broad and covers a wide range of behaviour, it has a very definite and measurable negative effect on our communities, particularly when it progresses to more serious criminal activity.
