Everton have released the first details of their Goodison Park farewell plans

Everton are planning a season of special events to help supporters get the most out of Goodison Park as the club bid farewell to the famous stadium.

The performances will see a stage built on the grounds and spectators watching from Gwladys Street to introduce heroes past and present for the ‘evening with’ performance pieces.

The club is also exploring the potential of showing live football on non-match days, while the final date for the Goodison charity night has been set.

Everton are well advanced in preparations for the final season ahead of the club’s move to its new seaside home. The release of the fixture list this week, which revealed that Southampton will be the last team to play at Goodison in the league, has shed light on one of the most significant dates of next year.

Now Everton have offered a few more. On Wednesday, August 21, the club will host an evening dedicated to the club’s cult heroes before the final Goodison giants are inducted into the club’s hall of fame on Wednesday, October 16. There will be an increase in stadium tours for those looking to take one last chance to exit the tunnel to the Z-Cars, more club legend experiences and a new ‘farewell experience’ near the pitch.

Some home games will be themed, plans are being worked on for live football to be broadcast and Everton’s final charity party in the Community will take place on Friday 11 October. Commemorative merchandise and specialty publications will also be released throughout the season.
