Local resident, Independent candidate for Ealing Central and Acton

Julie Carter

Local Julie Carter is standing as an independent candidate for the Ealing Central and Acton constituency in next month’s general election.

Julie’s family home is in the Southfield area of Bedford Park in W4, which is within Ealing Council’s jurisdiction.

Julie says she is an independent because she believes “the monopoly of the tired old parties is coming to an end” and that “infighting, bickering and power games are eroding voter support”.

“I’m not one to over-deliver and under-deliver,” says Julie, “I want to reopen the local landfill, improve traffic flow and protect the elderly and vulnerable in our community.

“However, I have been inundated with hundreds of emails asking me to support many issues in exchange for a potential vote of the constituents in question. I have answered every email and easily supported many petitions including support for the NHS, NHS dentistry and many other issues. Other requests I have abstained from as they are out of my purview, (if the G7 and world leaders can’t sort it out, I doubt they can) although they come with the caveat that abstaining puts me on a non-compliant list.

“Why am I standing and independent? Because I am ready, willing and able to take up the position of MP for Ealing Central and Acton and unencumbered by a party manifesto, I can work effectively for the good of my constituents.”

Rupa Huq is the Labor Party candidate in this constituency, James Windsor-Clive as the Conservative and Unionist Party candidate, Alastair Mitton for the Liberal Democrats, Kate Crossland for the Green Party, Nada Jarche for the UK Labor Party, Felix Orrell for Reform UK and Stephen Balogh as candidate of the Social Democratic Party.
