Mikko Juusola returns for season 24/25 – Sheffield Steelers

“The easiest decision I’ve ever made,” says Mikko

“It was the easiest decision to come back, I didn’t have to think twice,” said Mikko Juusola, who today became the latest Steeler Grand Slam player to confirm a return next season.

“I didn’t have to think at all, I just spoke to Foxy and then my agent and told them to do it, it was very simple and I’m very happy to be back,” continued Juusola.

“Winning games is always fun and we kept winning, first games and then trophies. The first win against Guildford in the cup final was incredible, to do it at home in front of our crazy fans was perhaps the most special moment

“Saying the Final Four playoffs was cool, having nine other teams that want you to lose and all their fans against you was fun, our fans are the best and I think they prefer it that way, definitely a do. I like”

On playing in the Champions Hockey League, Mikko said “an added bonus coming back, to play against these huge clubs. I can’t wait to see how we do, I think we’ll surprise a few people”

Head coach Aaron Fox commented, “Mikko was a very important piece of the puzzle last season.

“He made a huge first impression from the first time he stepped on the ice. The pace he played and ability to fit anywhere in our lineup was huge in our group.

“Mikko’s speed is elite and I think his wall game makes him very difficult to defend, especially on the cycle. He is a very reliable player defensively and has been good on the PK. It’s great to be able to keep him in orange and expect him to build on last season’s numbers.”
