The search for missing British teenager Jay Slater has now entered its fourth day.

The 19-year-old from Oswaldtwistle, Lancashire, was last heard from on Monday morning when he told a friend he planned to walk back to his accommodation in Tenerife after missing a bus, a journey expected to take around 11 hours walk.

Spanish police and Slater’s family, who flew to Tenerife after he disappeared, are now searching for the teenager, who was on holiday on the island.

Here, Yahoo News UK reveals the timeline of Jay Slater’s disappearance.

Afternoon: Slater attends the NRG Tenerife Weekender festival with friends.

In the evening: Slater leaves the rave with a group he met that day. He tells a friend, Lucy, that he will be staying with them at their apartment, but does not reveal the location.

20.35: Slater is seen in a Snapchat clip – his last before his disappearance. The clip shows him wearing a gray T-shirt with a green stripe.

7.30 am: Slater posts a Snapchat picture showing his hand holding a cigarette at the property he traveled to with two men.

8.15 am: Apparently, Slater calls Lucy in a panic, telling her that his phone battery was only at 1% and that he was lost and needed water. Slater tells Lucy that he missed the bus back to the accommodation and is trying to find his way back using the maps app on his phone.

8.50 am: Slater’s phone cuts off, his last location being the Rural Park of Teno – a mountainous area popular with hikers.

9.04 am: Slater is officially reported missing to the police in Tenerife. Lucy contacts the British Embassy.

2.30 am: Slater’s mother Debbie Duncan and stepfather Andy Watson are woken up by police at their home in Oswaldtwistle, Lancashire. Duncan is told she has to fly to Tenerife as her son has been reported missing. Describing the moment the police knocked on the door, Watson says: “When the police said, ‘The best thing you can do is get out,’ I knew it was bad.”

11.35 am: Duncan arrives in Tenerife with Slater’s brother Zak after catching the first flight from Manchester Airport. Duncan claims he was sent a Snapchat message from someone telling him to “say goodbye to your boy” shortly after landing.

1:45 p.m.: Specialized mountain rescue teams and helicopters are deployed in the search.

2:30 p.m.: Duncan is posting an appeal on Facebook asking anyone with information to come forward.

In the evening: A spokesman for the Civil Guard confirms that rescue teams and helicopters have been deployed in the search.

12:30 p.m.: The Civil Guard is temporarily shifting search efforts to the tourist areas of Los Cristianos and Playa de Las Americas in the south of the island after reports of a sighting – which turns out to be a “false track”.

In the evening: Police in Tenerife are searching Slater’s hotel room in Los Cristianos, where he had been staying with friends Brad and Lucy Law. His mother tells ITN the ordeal is “an absolute living nightmare”. She adds: “I just want my baby back. Please can anyone help look for him.”

5 am: Slater’s friend Lucy Mae is launching a GoFundMe page for the search.

9:00 a.m Accrington and Rossendale College, where Slater was completing his apprenticeship, said it was “deeply concerned” by Slater’s disappearance. They added in a statement: “The safety and well-being of our students is extremely important to us, and our thoughts at this troubling time are with Jay’s family and friends.”

Morning: The search for Slater enters its fourth day with no leads yet reported.
