A reward of up to £10,000 has been offered to help catch the suspect in the Coventry hit-and-run which killed Keaton Slater

A REWARD of up to £10,000 has been offered for information leading to the capture of Dolars Aleksanders, who is wanted in connection with a fatal collision in Coventry.

Aleskanders is the main suspect after 12-year-old Keaton Slater was killed after being hit by a car on Radford Road at around 4.30pm last Friday (June 14). The vehicle then drove off.

Crimstoppers – a charity, independent of the police – is supporting the investigation by offering a reward of up to £10,000 for information the charity receives exclusively that leads to the arrest of 21-year-old Aleksanders. The reward is available for three months and is set to expire on September 20.

The advice is not to approach Aleksanders, but to contact the police or the charity Crimestoppers if people want to remain anonymous.

It comes as Keaton’s heartbroken family released footage of the youngster opening a new iPhone on his 11th birthday last January.

Alan Edwards, regional manager at the charity Crimestoppers, said: “A boy has tragically lost his life and it has had a devastating impact on so many people, particularly Keaton’s family and friends.

“Our charity is supporting the police as they hunt for Aleksanders by offering a reward. We remind everyone – especially those who may be bullied into silence – that they have the option to remain completely anonymous when contacting us.

“If you know where the Aleksanders are and contact Crimestoppers directly, you could be entitled to a reward of up to £10,000.

“Our charity is here for you if you don’t want to speak directly to the authorities and prefer not to give your personal details.

“Crimestoppers is independent of the police and guarantees you remain completely anonymous.”

Crimestoppers is open 24/7, 365 days a year, both online and over the phone. No one will ever know who contacted the charity and, it says, “they will do the right thing”.

Information submitted directly to the police does not qualify for a reward. Only information submitted directly to Crimestoppers using the anonymous online form at Crimestoppers-uk.org or Fearless.org for young people or by calling the UK Contact Center on 0800 555 111 will qualify.

Anonymity

With Crimestoppers and Fearless, when people visit these sites, their computers’ IP addresses are never tracked. Phone calls are never recorded, there is no caller line display and no 1471 facility. The charity is completely independent of the police and guarantees that your personal identity will always be protected.

Claiming a reward:

The reward will only be paid for information passed directly to Crimestoppers and not to the police. A reward code must be requested when calling the charity on 0800 555 111. People who contact Crimestoppers via the anonymous online form, the ‘keep in touch’ facility must be used and a reward code must be requested on initial contact with the charity .

More information about the rewards can be found on the Crimestoppers website. This reward is available until September 20th, as case-specific rewards generally expire after three months.
