Camping stoves recalled for ‘risk of fire, explosion and burns’

Two models of camping stoves are being recalled, with warnings not to use them due to the risk of explosion and injury. The Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS) issued a recall notice.

It said Vango folding gas stoves “present a risk of fire, explosion and burns as it has been identified that the gas hose can degrade over time, leading to a gas leak and possible hose ignition”. That meant the stoves were recalled.

There are two Vango models affected. They are the ACXSTOVE DAKZ36 Folding Gas Stove and the ACXSTOVE DEWZ36 Windshield Piezo Folding Stove. They are on sale from September 2022 and were made in China, OPSS said.

The recall is limited to the affected production numbers. The production number is located on the underside of the stove.

Production numbers and month/year of manufacture are as follows:

19406/06/2022

19775/10/2022

19785/12/2022
