A lifelong Tigers fan with previous links to the club’s pathways and development squads, Wand scored 14 tries in 22 appearances for Coventry last season and was named in the Championship Team of the Season at outside centre.

Wand’s senior career began with Cambridge, where the then teenager made 20 appearances in National League One before earning a move to Coventry.

Leicester Tigers center Will Wand said: “It’s an incredible opportunity to join Leicester Tigers, my boyhood club.”

“Growing up my family always supported Leicester Tigers and I went to many matches at Mattioli Woods Welford Road.

“I can’t wait to keep learning and working hard and I’m excited to be a part of the group.”

Wand will add depth to the Tigers midfield alongside fellow Wallabies international Izaia Perese and promising Academy graduate Joseph Woodward.

Dan Kelly and Solomone Kata also return from the 2023/24 squad.

Leicester Tigers managing director Richard Wilks said: “Will is a player well known to people at the club who studied at Brooksby Melton College.”

“I have watched his progress in the Championship at Coventry this season where he has excelled.

“We look forward to welcoming one of our own to the club.”

Leicester Tigers head coach Dan McKellar said: “Will is a great addition to our group.”

“Will is a guy who has had to earn his opportunities and, at 22, he already has good experience at Championship level under his belt.

“No doubt he’ll relish the chance to come in and work hard and prove he belongs at this level.”
