Police incident in Buffery Road live as two arrested after man stabbed

A major road was closed this afternoon after a man was stabbed and a total of three people were injured. Two men were arrested as armed officers swooped on Buffery Road in Dudley just after 2pm today, Friday 21 June.

The road was closed between School Drive and Sledmore Road. Witnesses saw a police helicopter flying overhead and dozens of officers at the scene.




One witness said armed police were “everywhere” and described the scenes as “crazy”. Another said: “It was chaos. About five ambulances. Hope everyone involved is ok.”

A West Midlands Police spokesman said: “We were called to Buffery Road, Dudley, just after 2.05pm today. A man was found with serious stab wounds. Two men have been arrested and will be questioned in due course.

“We are in the early stages of our investigation and a scene is currently in place. Anyone with information is asked to contact us via Live Chat on our website or by calling 101 and quoting log 2837 of 21/6/24. “


A spokesman for West Midlands Ambualcen said: “We were called by West Midlands Police to reports of a stabbing in Buffery Road, Dudley, at 2.09pm. Three ambulances, two paramedic officers, a trauma doctor and a critical care paramedic, the WMAS Critical Care car, Cosford Midlands Air Ambulance and Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance responded to the scene.

“Upon arrival, ambulance staff found three men who had been injured, one seriously.”

A major road in Dudley was closed by armed police this afternoon after three men were injured in a stabbing. Buffery Road, between School Drive and Sledmore Road, was closed to traffic amid a huge 999 response at around 2.05pm.

Paramedics treated three people at the scene. A man was found with serious stab wounds, police said.

Two men have been arrested following the stabbing and will be questioned by detectives. Witnesses described the scene as “scary” and “crazy”.

“Three ambulances, two paramedic officers, a MERIT trauma doctor and a critical care paramedic, the WMAS Critical Care car, Midlands Air Ambulance from Cosford and Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance responded to the scene.

“Upon arrival, ambulance staff found three men who had been injured, one seriously.”

A witness told BirminghamLive that the scenes were “horrific” and that the incident happened as “children were leaving school”.

She said: “I drove past and the police were everywhere. It was awful”.
