Smithers, a leading provider of testing, consulting, intelligence and compliance services, has announced the appointment of Andrea Wakefield as the new director of resource and operations optimization for its pharmaceutical development services division. With over 20 years of experience in regulated bioanalysis within contract research organizations (CROs) and the biotech industry, Wakefield is set to enhance Smithers’ operational efficiency and commitment to delivering accurate, timely data.

About Andrea Wakefield

Andrea Wakefield brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her new role at Smithers. With over two decades of experience in regulated bioanalysis within CROs and the biotech industry, she has a proven track record in streamlining standard operating procedures (SOPs), implementing vendor agreements and establishing key performance indicators (KPIs). Wakefield holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Ottawa and a Master of Science degree in Biology from the University of New Brunswick, Canada.

Her skills in optimizing operations and ensuring regulatory compliance are expected to significantly benefit Smithers’ Pharmaceutical Development Services Division, supporting the company’s mission to provide high-quality data and services to its customers.
