A six-year-old boy has been seriously injured after being hit by an electric bike in Sheffield

A six-year-old boy has been left with life-changing injuries after being hit by an electric mountain bike in Sheffield.

South Yorkshire Police were called to Lindsay Avenue in the Parsons Cross area of ​​the city at 9.58pm on Saturday (June 15) following reports of an electric mountain bike which had collided with a young child and on the footpath.

The six-year-old boy was rushed to hospital with what are believed to be life-threatening or life-changing injuries. He has since been discharged.

The rider of the electric mountain bike is reported to have initially stopped at the scene but left without providing details. Police are appealing directly for the rider to come forward and help officers with their enquiries.

A South Yorkshire Police spokesman said: “Anyone who witnessed the collision or was in the area at the time and has any information or footage which could assist officers in their investigation can contact us online or on 101. please quote incident number 1070 of 15.
