Michael Olise makes the transfer ‘decision’ as Liverpool discover Chelsea’s position

Michael Olise has reportedly opted to move to Bayern Munich from Crystal Palace this summer.

Olise, 22, has also been linked with Liverpool, while Manchester City and Manchester United are said to have substantial interest in the Crystal Palace winger. But it has been claimed that only Chelsea and Newcastle have contacted the Eagles over Premier League side Olise.

Chelsea have also been given permission to speak to the player’s representatives after expressing an interest in the France youth international at Palace. However, the west London club failed to reach an agreement during those negotiations after failing to meet the player’s financial demands.

The Athletic reported that the Stamford Bridge club had pulled out of the race before revealing the player’s decision to join Bayern Munich. After finally appointing a new head coach in Vincent Kompany, the German giants have been busy strengthening their squad, with Olise set to become their seventh signing since then.

He will also become the biggest signing in the Premier League this summer. The player has a £60m release clause in his contract with Palace.

Olise’s exit could start an exodus to south London this summer. Eberechi Eze and Marc Guehi are both at the European Championship with England, the latter impressing while the former has barely played despite an outstanding – albeit stop-start – season.
