Wes Morgan has already told Leicester City what to expect from Steve Cooper

Leicester City and Nottingham Forest favorite Wes Morgan once described Steve Cooper as “the greatest guy ever” as he enjoyed his exploits at the City Ground.

Cooper took charge at the King Power Stadium six months after leaving Forest, impressively leading them from the bottom of the Championship to promotion to the Premier League and then survival in the top flight. His immediate task will be to repeat that survival feat with the Foxes, who are preparing for life back in the Premier League after winning promotion last season under former boss Enzo Maresca.

Morgan, who left Forest to join Leicester in 2012 and went on to captain the Foxes to the Premier League title in 2016, was full of praise for Cooper when he was still in charge of Forest. Speaking about him last November, shortly before he left the City Ground, he said: “I went to a couple of Forest games, spoke to Steve Cooper, the greatest guy ever.

“He’s done a great job for Forest, getting them out of the Championship, out of the position they were in, into the Premier League and surviving this first season, this season and hopefully going a bit further.”
