Leny Yoro transfer chase ‘intensifies’ as Manchester United exit deal ‘declines’

Manchester United face a potentially busy couple of months as Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Ineos look to run through their summer transfer window.

United will be looking to bounce back from eighth place last term when they kick off the 2024/25 season at home to Fulham on August 16. However, victory in the FA Cup final against Manchester City last month gave them a boost. when United kick off the 24/25 campaign.

A complication when it comes to transfers is Euro 2024 and the Copa America, with potential transfer targets likely to focus on international duties rather than their club futures. Below is a look at some of the latest media reports in and around Old Trafford…

The latest Yoro transfer

Sky Sports claim United have made first contact over signing Lille centre-back Leny Yoro. The Frenchman has been linked with a move to Old Trafford but now the club are said to have made the first move to sign him.

MEN Sport’s Isaac Seelochan says: This is a tricky one for United, with Real Madrid seen as favorites to sign him. There is no doubting his ability and future potential, but does the player really want to join?

Of course, all these reports could just be a ploy to try and get Everton to lower their asking price for Jarrad Branthwaite. Either way, United are looking to sign two new centre-backs this summer and adding Yoro would be a no-brainer.
