THE DAMNED AD 2022 – Live In Manchester

Formed in London in 1976, Damned became one of the most innovative and influential bands to emerge from the British punk rock scene of the 70s. Their debut single “New Rose” (1976) is considered the first punk single ever released in the UK.

Throughout their impressive career spanning over 45 years (and counting), The Damned have experimented with various musical styles, incorporating elements of gothic rock, psychedelia and new wave into their sound.

Even after nearly half a century (and numerous line-up changes, with Dave Vanian being the only constant member), eleven studio albums and several UK chart singles, The Damned have no intention of slowing down and are still making music new and always winning – expanding fan base fueled by legendary live shows.

In October 2020, over 40 years after the founding members broke up, The Damned announced a series of reunion shows with the original lineup of Dave Vanian (vocals), Brian James (guitar), Captain Sensible (bass) and Rat. Scabie (drums). However, due to the pandemic, they had to postpone the performances until 2022.

On 3 November 2022, the band performed at the O2 Apollo in Manchester, UK, performing a packed 21-song set from their first two albums, 1977’s ‘Damned Damned Damned’ and their single ‘Music for Pleasure’. albums to showcase the four founding members.

This legendary reunion show now becomes available for the first time worldwide on September 13, 2024.

‘AD 2022 – Live In Manchester’ will be available digitally for download and streaming in all brick and mortar stores on 180g double black vinyl, packaged in a premium quality gatefold jacket, as well as a limited double deluxe edition -CD+DVD. , with the full video of the Manchester show on DVD and the Birmingham reunion show as an exclusive audio bonus on CD 2.

Today marks the release of the live track taken from Manchester’s intoxicating show at the O2 Apollo: ‘New Rose’ will be available instantly as a digital download and stream and on pre-order of the ‘AD 2022 – Live In Manchester’ album.
