Parade in Leicester city center to celebrate the armed forces

Ahead of Armed Services Day, there will be a flag raising ceremony at County Hall in Glenfield at 10.30am BST on Monday 24 June.

It will be attended by veterans, cadets and civic dignitaries and will use an Armed Forces Day flag by June Sisson, who served as a communications specialist in the Women’s Royal Air Force (WRAF).

Chairman of Leicestershire County Council, Joe Orson, said: “It is a great honor and privilege to attend this national event to honor our armed forces and show our appreciation for their vital service and dedication.”
