Leeds United take a look at England youth player Manchester United and West Ham

Leeds United are monitoring the situation with young Rangers winger Archie Stevens amid a flurry of interest in the player. The England under-18 international has made just one senior appearance for the Ibrox club so far but is regarded as one of the Glasgow giants’ brightest young players.

The Whites are expected to lose Crysencio Summerville this summer and will see Jack Harrison return to Everton on a season-long loan, in need of reinforcements. While Stevens would not be seen as a direct replacement for either of those players, there is a belief that the 18-year-old is ready for first-team football next season and Leeds have a good track record of developing young talent, as seen with Summerville.

Daniel Farke’s side are not the only ones chasing the rising Rangers star, with West Ham United, Nottingham Forest and Wolverhampton Wanderers also linked, while Manchester United reportedly registered an interest in the player last year.

Stevens is about to enter the final year of his contract at Rangers, with the Glasgow club knowing they either have to tie him down to a new deal in the next few weeks or part with him for a top-flight fee who can get it this summer. Stevens was signed in 2022 from AFC Wimbledon after Rangers won a hotly contested battle for the teenager’s services
