Motorcyclist injured in tractor-trailer accident

A motorcyclist was injured early Saturday morning after colliding with a tractor-trailer in the city of Bristol, according to authorities.

Bristol Township police reported the crash happened at approximately 3:39 a.m. on State Road near River Road in the Croydon section of the township.

The motorcyclist, who was heading north, struck the back of a tractor-trailer while making a U-turn to head south on State Road, police said.

The motorcyclist was transported to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital in Philadelphia.

The severity of the motorcyclist’s injuries had not yet been determined Saturday morning, but investigators confirmed the motorcyclist was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

The tractor-trailer sustained minor damage and was able to be driven from the scene, police said.

In addition to the police, Bucks County Rescue and Croydon Fire Brigade attended the scene.
