Published from 1914 to 1951, later as The Farmers Advocate and Home Magazine, The Canadian Countryman served primarily a rural audience.

Published from 1914 to 1951, later ca The Farmers Advocate and Home Magazine, The Canadian Countryman served a mainly rural readership. Weekly until 1929, then biweekly thereafter, the tabloid contained all kinds of farm and agricultural news and advertisements on 20 to 60 pages. Each issue featured a cover photo, often posed, that effectively praised country life. (The male farmers seemed especially fond of their pipes.) The ladies were given homemaking tips and kitchen tips. This selection of 31 covers ranges from 1919 to the 1930s.
