Jack Catterall takes on Regis Prograis in Manchester, England in August

Jack Catterall takes on Regis Prograis on Saturday 24th August at Co-op Live in Manchester, England. The pair square off in a 12-round super lightweight bout. The event is broadcast live on DAZN.

Catterall (29-1, 13 KOs) is fresh off a unanimous decision victory over old rival Josh Taylor in May. With the victory, the 30-year-old from Chorley, England, avenged his only career defeat in his bid to secure the undisputed 140-pound title in February 2022.

“I’ve been waiting for big fights to happen before, waiting for title shots and it’s caused me a lot of inactivity,” said Jack Catterall. “I will never do this again. We asked Eddie Hearn and Sam Jones for the best fight available for August 24th and as soon as they mentioned Regis Prograis I said yes straight away.”

“We were meant to fight a while ago and it fell through. But now we have the opportunity to settle it in the ring on August 24.”

“I don’t want to sit on the sidelines and I will never do that again. Regis Prograis is a fantastic fighter and is coming off the back of a huge PPV world title fight against Devin Haney. He’s a former two-time world champion, he’s been here in the UK before, he’s had a life and death with Josh Taylor and I can’t wait to share the ring with such a great fighter.”

Two-time super lightweight champion Prograis (29-2, 24 KOs) makes his first ring appearance of the year and looks to get back to his winning ways. The 35-year-old NOLA standout last lost his WBC belt via unanimous decision to Devin Haney in December 2023.

“This is a fight I’ve always wanted,” said Regis Prograis. “We were supposed to fight a few years ago, but it never materialized. Now is the perfect time.”

“I see Jack as one of the best in the world at 140 pounds. It’s a great fight because Jack is looking to become a world champion and I’m looking to become a three-time world champion. Plus I’m excited to be back in the UK.”

Matches featured on the Catterall vs Prograis card are expected to be announced soon.
