McDonalds has partnered with Coventry MIND for mental health support

MCDONALDS franchisee John Kiely MBE has partnered with Coventry and Warwickshire Mind and is introducing pop-up mental health support across the seven McDonald’s he owns in Coventry.

It will be available every four to six weeks on a restaurant-by-restaurant basis, and no purchase is required to access the support.

The idea came from Dee Hodgson, who trained internally with Mind, the NHS and has worked in signaling and frontline services for over 15 years.

John said: “I am so proud to offer this vital support in all my restaurants – we offer this support to everyone in the community, not just customers.

“With the current rise in mental health issues, it is essential as a local business owner that I do my part to give back to our local community.

“I hope the new service available in my restaurants goes some way to supporting our staff and customers and I would like to thank Coventry and Warwickshire Mind and Dee for working with me on this initiative.”

Dee said: “I applaud the Coventry McDonald’s team for the decision to give our local community easy access to vital support that can really make a difference.

“We look forward to meeting more people in the city and working with John and his team to make a positive impact.”

Support will be available between 12pm and 2pm on the following dates so far, with new dates being added each month:

Binley, Coventry – 13 July

Holyhead Road, Coventry – 10 August

Cross Cheaping or West Orchards, Coventry – 31 August

Abbey Park, Coventry – 28 September
