Nate Berkus and Jeremiah Brent reveal one of the best parts of surrogacy — Tequila!

Nate Berkus and Jeremiah Brent talk about their experience welcoming their daughter, Poppy Brent-Berkus, in March.

The couple recently met with Oprah Winfrey for her show, Oprah: Where are they now? and in ET’s exclusive clip, they talk about the benefits of surrogacy.

“One of the greatest gifts of surrogacy in our experience is that we really had the opportunity and the space around us to have a conversation that needed to be had – how we wanted to raise the child, what expectations we had or didn’t have . for her as a person, as a being coming into the world,” says Brent.

Although Berkus, 44, has a much less serious answer.

“The second thing I think is so amazing about surrogacy is tequila, because you can drink it until the baby is born,” he jokes. “We drink it at 5 o’clock every night now.”

“Our pregnant friends say, ‘We hate you,'” laughs Brent.

On a more serious note, the two are clearly enjoying being parents to their adorable baby girl.

“Her little face is the highlight of every day,” Berkus gushed on Instagram recently.

And the two interior designers are now finding ways to work together. Berkus will be a guest on OWN’s Home made simple — which Brent hosts — on Saturday, January 23 at 9:00 ET/PT. The couple’s Oprah: Where are they now? The episode will also air the same day at 10pm ET/PT.
