Danny Rohl outlines Sheffield Wednesday’s pre-season plans live at Euro 2024

Danny Rohl is preparing to return to work at Sheffield Wednesday following his spell at Euro 2024.

The Sheffield Wednesday manager joined the ITV pundits as Euro 2024 kicked off last week, making his debut ahead of Belgium v ​​Slovakia on Monday.

Since then, Rohl has been on our TV screens for four more matches, his time on ITV coming to an end when Portugal beat Turkey yesterday.

He is due to return to Yorkshire ahead of the pre-season tests which start on June 28.

Once the team have taken to Middlewood Road this month, they are set to make a trip to St George’s Park for a week of training before heading back to Germany for their second summer camp.

Sheffield Wednesday will unveil their 2024/25 schedule next week and kick off the new campaign on August 10 – seven weeks’ time.

Rohl sets his summer plans at Sheffield Wednesday

With Rohl ready to return to life as a Championship coach, he has now outlined his plans for his return to Sheffield.

Speaking on ITV yesterday (19:07)said: “Yes, we will start next Friday, pre-season, testing, and hopefully the players work hard in pre-season and are fit.

“We have to test everything. It’s about running, it’s about the medical control that they are ready for the pre-season. We have to work hard in the next six weeks to be ready for next season. I’m looking forward to it and hope it goes well.”

The Owls’ pre-season training could define the season

Rohl is yet to undergo a pre-season at Hillsborough after joining Wednesday in October.

The 35-year-old’s pre-season training could make or break the season as he looks to further implement his own tactics and training methods.

With the squad set for an overhaul, the team will have weeks to cool down and start the season on a much more positive note than they have in the past.

Getting transfers done early could also prove crucial, with three signings already in the first full week of the transfer window opening.
