Ice cream parlor 90 minutes from Coventry, inspired by Jeremy Clarkson’s show Clarkson Farm

As the anticipated summer weather finally arrives, there’s a sweet idea you can try for a family day out this summer. How about a 90 minute drive from Coventry to a small village with its own ice cream parlor and windmill?

Bobby’s Ice-Cream Parlor in Werrington is set in the stunning Staffordshire Moorlands. The salon is run by husband and wife Natalie and Craig Taylor, who were inspired by Jeremy Clarkson’s hit Amazon Prime series Carkson’s Farm to open their own cafe on their farm.

There are many unusual ice cream names and flavors from ‘Cherry Blizzard, Death by Chocolate, Gin & Damson, Crème Brûlée and Mango Sorbet, all made by Snugburys in Chesire. There are also homemade pizzas you can order and fries with unique toppings like the Greek God, which includes lamb shoulder, homemade tzatziki and feta cheese.

Their ethos is to focus on North Staffordshire produce, the menu including homemade cakes and gluten free options. Natalie told StokeonTrentLive: “We serve sausage rolls, jams, ice cream and fresh coffee. We are family oriented. There’s nothing like it in the area – it’s a bit different.”

The tea rooms and salon are named after their three-year-old son, who is named after Craig’s grandfather, and the idea came about as a result of family day trips.

Craig said: “We enjoy going out and getting ice cream and we just thought ‘we can do this at home’. I saw the opportunity. We had just renovated our house and were too busy to keep animals, so we thought it was a good way to go down.
