Derby County want Leicester City goalkeeper Daniel Iverson

Derby County are interested in a loan move for Leicester City goalkeeper Daniel Iverson, according to reporter Alan Nixon on his Patreon page.

Derby County have identified the former Denmark youth international as a potential goalkeeping target this summer. They are back in the Championship after promotion from League One along with Portsmouth and Oxford United and are on the lookout for new faces.

Iverson, 26, spent the second half of last season on loan at fellow second-tier side Stoke City after linking up with the Potters in the January transfer window. He went on to make 19 appearances for the Staffordshire outfit in all competitions.

Steven Schumacher is unlikely to lure him back to the Bet365 Stadium after landing Viktor Johansson from Rotherham United.

In this latest update on his situation from journalist Nixon on his Patreon page, the Rams are eager to bring him to Pride Park.

Who is this?

THE QUIZ STARTS!

Derby County could see Iverson as someone to compete for their place between the sticks.

He moved to England as a youngster in 2016 when Leicester City came calling, having previously been at Gørding LIF and Esbjerg.

Since then, the Dane has made 17 appearances for the Foxes but has struggled to establish a regular place at the King Power Stadium.

His chances of playing with his current club are slim now they are back in the top flight so a move would suit all parties involved.

Iverson is no stranger to going out on loan and has had spells at Oldham Athletic, Rotherham United, OH Leuven, Preston North End and Stoke City in the past.

Derby County will be delighted to be back in the second tier and will be aware that they need to get their recruitment right.

Iverson wouldn’t be a bad option for them in goal and is someone Warne already knows having managed him at Rotherham United.

The Rams need to replace Joe Wildsmith, who left after helping them to promotion.
