Alan Hansen recovering well amid claims Liverpool legend ‘has been released from hospital’

Anfield manager George Sephton has claimed Liverpool legend Alan Hansen has been discharged from hospital.

Former Reds captain Hansen, who turned 69 on June 13, has been hospitalized since becoming seriously ill earlier this month.

Graeme Souness gave a hugely encouraging update on Hansen’s condition last week, revealing he had spoken to his close friend on the phone and had been given reason to be optimistic, saying he “sounds fabulous” and is “definitely coming back”.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Sunday afternoon, Anfield stadium announcer Sephton also said he had been informed that Hansen had now been discharged from hospital.

“I was just told by a reliable source that Alan Hansen has been released from the hospital!” posted Mr. Sephton.

And while this has yet to be confirmed, the ECHO understands that the iconic Hansen is indeed recovering well after making good progress this week.
