Bristol Tattoo Convention 2024: Everything you need to know

Bristol tattoo artists, collectors and fans will gather at Ashton Gate Stadium next month for the eighth Bristol Tattoo Convention. This year, over 250 artists are taking part, including over 60 new artists making their Bristol debut.

There will also be new activities and things to do, including a variety of seminars, as well as several art and photo galleries to explore. In addition, dubbed “the biggest event yet”, this year will see the introduction of an outdoor stage with live bands all weekend and the return of skate and BMX teams.

This year’s Bristol Tattoo Convention takes place on July 6-7 and tickets are on sale now. We’ve compiled a list of everything you need to know – from when the doors open, what else you can see and do, and parking, food, drink and more…

When and where is Bristol Tattoo Convention 2024?

Bristol Tattoo Convention 2024 takes place at Ashton Gate Stadium on July 6-7. Advanced admission is at 11am both days, with general admission at 12pm.

On Saturday 6th July, doors will close at 8pm and the event will end at 9pm. However, the Sports Bar will remain open in the evening until 11pm.

On Sunday 7th July, doors will close at 7pm and the event will end at 8pm.

Which artists are participating – and can I get tattooed at the event?

There are over 250 artists at this year’s convention – a full list of them can be found on the official page here. You can get tattooed at the convention, but if you have a specific artist in mind, it’s probably best to contact them directly to see if they take bookings.

There will also be many artists taking appointments each day so you can have a look around and book when you find something you like. Artists value their own work and you will have to pay for your tattoo in addition to your convention ticket.

The organizers will make every effort to ensure that anyone with an appointment scheduled before 11:00 arrives on time for their appointment. Talk only to the staff at the door.

Where can I buy tickets – and how much do they cost?

You can buy tickets here or via the link on the official Bristol Tattoo Convention 2024 website. Early bird tickets for adults cost £16.75 per day per person or you can buy a weekend ticket giving you access to both days of the event for £27.75 each.

Children are welcome to attend the event, all under 18s must be accompanied by an adult. Entry is free for anyone aged 16 and under.

What else can you see and do?

The convention will also boast merchants selling artwork, jewelry, clothing, homeware and more. There will be artist galleries and convention merchandise, plus outside will be the Team Extreme skate ramp with various displays and a live music stage throughout the day.

You can even watch 2024 Euros in the Sports Bar, however you will need your convention ticket to enter. There will be several food vendors catering to most dietary requirements – these include the bar, cafe and several indoor and outdoor vendors.

Ashton Gate Stadium is a cashless venue so the bar, cafe and food vendors will be card only.

Travel and parking for the event

Event organizers will run a free bus service throughout the event, while there are bike racks if you want to cycle and limited free parking on a first-come, first-served basis at the venue. Parking stewards will be on hand to make sure things run smoothly.

There is also a limited number of free disabled parking spaces which cannot be booked in advance. Stewards will be available to advise you where to park on arrival.
