Child airlifted to Birmingham after hit by car on HWY 67 in Somerville

MORGAN COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) — A child was airlifted to Birmingham Sunday afternoon after being struck by a car at the intersection of Highway 67 and Highway 36 in Somerville.

According to the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a child struck by a vehicle around 12:45 p.m.

HWY 67 was briefly shut down while air evacuation was en route, but has since reopened.

The child was flown to Birmingham and HWY 67 was reopened.
