Cupcakes, fireworks lined up for Canada Day in downtown Barrie

This year’s celebration continues with a new Salsa After Party starting at 10.15pm at Meridian Place; The Elliott BROOD Band will also perform

Join us in Downtown Barrie on July 1st for a spectacular Canada Day celebration.

The Downtown Barrie BIA, in partnership with the City of Barrie and with the support of the federal government’s Heritage Canada, put on an exciting day full of activities, performances and community spirit.

Dunlop Street will be transformed into a vibrant pedestrian-only area with terraces, a retail market, vendors, street performers and arts activities.

From 10am, the festivities will begin along Dunlop Street and Meridian Place.

Meridian Place will be the heart of the celebration with local performances highlighting Canadian heritage, multiculturalism and Indigenous culture.

Don’t miss the special cupcake celebration at 5 p.m., where local dignitaries will be handing out free Canada Day cupcakes. The Barrie Baytown Big Band will lead the singing Oh, Canada followed by a one-hour show.

As the evening draws in, the excitement will build with headliner Elliott BROOD Band taking the stage at 8pm. Mountain meadows and Juno Award winner Days in YearsElliott BROOD promises an electrifying performance leading up to the annual Kempenfelt Bay fireworks display at 10pm.

After the fireworks, the celebration continues with a new Salsa Day Canada after party from 10:15pm to 11:00pm in Meridian Place. Join us for a crowd-led salsa lesson, a live performance and dancing under the stars.
